Manager, Financial Reporting to join the team.


A core strategy of 123Dentist is acquiring dental practices across multiple provinces in Canada - it's a constant and regular part of the company's core activities.

Given the significant growth of our business, we find ourselves in need of an Assistant Controller, Financial Reporting & Acquisitions to support the Controller by providing accurate and timely reporting and hands on day-to-day activities primarily related to partner dentist clinic acquisitions.


The Assistant Controller, Financial Reporting & Acquisitions will communicate directly with the various stakeholders with the wider 123Dentist team, as well as other external participants, and will also assist in project initiative enhancements.


Here's What You Get to Do:

Overview:

  • Complex Financial Reporting including acquisition accounting
  • Position papers for accounting treatment
  • Assist with and develop relationships with partner dentists, as well as internal management team members and external consultants (primarily the external auditors and the Company's PE investor)
  • Assist in developing, documenting, and implementing effective controls and processes to ensure the integrity of financial information

General Ledger:

  • Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Accruals and Accounting Journal Entries
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Monthly Financials (including Cash Flows) Preparation and Distribution
  • Quarterly Financials Preparation for Banking Requirements

Audit:

  • Prepare consolidate financial statements (including Cash Flows and Notes)
  • Compile both interim and year end audit working papers

Project Work:

  • Working with Controller on Various Projects
  • Create ad hoc reports as requested by Senior Management

What We are Looking for:

Bachelor's degree required and CPA required:


  • 5+ years of relevant finance, audit and accounting operations experience:
  • Demonstrable experience in public practice auditing
  • Prior experience with acquisition accounting preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to adapt and interact at various levels throughout the organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate at various levels throughout the organization
  • Exposure to a rapidly growing transaction oriented multisite environment preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Sound business knowledge and strong technical accounting reconciliation skills to understand complex reconciliations
  • Ability to balance conflicting responsibilities while meeting deadlines
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy to ensure high quality of work
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Able to deal with people ethically, honestly and with the utmost integrity
