- Thales Canada seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to assist its Non-Combatant In-Service Support Programs for the Royal Canadian Navy.
- As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the Thales LCMM & Engineering Team, responsible for providing technical support for marine systems and mechanical aspects of various Royal Canadian Navy Non-Combatant Platforms, such as marine propulsion systems, maneuvering systems, bilge, ballast, and auxiliary systems.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the creation and maintenance of marine system technical documentation.
- Offer technical support for equipment deficiencies.
- Conduct technical inquiries into marine equipment problems, including failure analysis and solution development.
- Analyze requirements related to changes in ship configuration and equipment.
- Perform Life Cycle and Materiel Management functions.
- Create work scopes for obtaining quotations from external resources.
- Develop technical proposals and cost estimates for Customer approval.
- Implement and oversee engineering changes and work packages.
- Perform design calculations and reviews for various systems and equipment.

Position Summary
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering.Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in a Canadian Province, transferable to Ontario or Nova Scotia.Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the marine sector.
Language:
English (Essential)Previous experience with the Royal Canadian Navy or Canadian Coast Guard.Experience in providing marine in-service support for operational assets.Demonstrated experience working on a defense contract.
Special Position RequirementsSchedule: 40 hours per week.Physical Environment:
Occasional domestic or international travel may be necessary to support the ships.
