is seeking an Early Career or Associate
Human Resource (HR) Generalist reporting to the Senior Human Resource Site Leader, working out of the
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada site.

This position requires knowledge as an HR generalist, familiar with every discipline within HR to formulate workforce strategies that meet organizational goals and develop solutions on employment-related issues.

The Associate HR Generalist also provides day-to-day employee assistance.

The
HR Generalist supports a wide range of HR services to the employees and management team


This includes:

employee relations, workplace investigations, Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) actions in support of recalls, shift preferences, factory skills rebalancing, skills reclassifications, skills development planning, strategic skills planning, employee return to work, labour relations/grievance support, performance management, and HR trainings.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Assists with the deployment of Human Resources programs, policies and practices. Responds to process questions and disseminates
  • HR information, general policy and process guidance to the HR Service Center.
  • Assists in partnering and facilitating all HR services
  • Maintains HR databases and spreadsheets
  • Function as a true business partner to provide clients with advice on key business objectives and execute on those strategies to solve business challenges.
  • Assists peers and business to deliver and facilitate developmental opportunities for client groups, which may include performance management, succession/workforce planning, compensation/benefits, organization/team development, and change management.
  • Develops knowledge of labour/union issues and best practices in order to promote positive labor relations. This includes working in union environment, understanding & managing through a CBA.
  • Assists and monitors employee climate to identify issues/trends and develop recommendations for problem solving with business units as appropriate. Develop solutions to implement with the business.
  • Ensure compliance with established internal HR policies and procedures and regulatory requirements and conduct periodic audits, as needed/required.
  • Assists in managing specific projects as determined by the HR Senior Leadership Team and participate in functional and crossfunctional initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of progressive HR practices, continued business acumen and key trends.
  • Support the administration of Company programs including attendance management.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of equivalent experience or recent graduate of a Human Resource program
  • Experience with Microsoft office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
  • Must be eligible to handle US exportcontrolled data

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resource
  • Broad knowledge of employment law, compensation and organizational development
  • Experience with collective agreements within a union environment
  • Experience in deploying and administering HR programs, policies, practices and processes
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems, basic HR measurement, and process improvement techniques required
  • Collaboration across organizational boundaries to deliver an integrated final product
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Preferred Human Resources Certification, Diploma or Degree

Typical Education and Experience:


Early Career (Level 1): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. 4 years' related work experience).


Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+ 1 years' related work experience, 7 years' related work experience, etc.).
