Job Description Summary:


The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the production schedule is completed in a timely manner within quality parameters by directing production assembly teams and scheduling workflow to fulfill requirements.

This position provides operational training to the assembly team and feedback to the Operations Manager.

The Production Supervisor ensures safety and quality standards are maintained at all times and performs all job functions within assembly area.

The Production Supervisor drives continuous improvement and problem solving within their production team and is the gatekeeper of continuous improvement and kaizen ideas and efforts.

This role reports to the Operations & Site Manager.

The duties and responsibilities of the Production supervisor will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Direct production assembly team and schedules workflow to fulfill requirements, ensuring that production is completed in a timely manner and within quality parameters.
  • Drive troubleshooting and problemsolving activities within a dedicated production area when target performance is not achieved.
  • Work with Operations Manager/Production Scheduler to manage and prioritize department assignments to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Perform and follow QC (quality control) inspection of products standards.
  • Coordinate employee training with Operations Manager/Manufacturing Engineer, HR or other department to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all quality and safety requirements.
  • Participate as an active member of the Ergo assembly team and support team when required.
  • Provide team with personal protective equipment and ensure employees adhere to proper usages of equipment and follow all Workrite's safety policies and regulations.
  • Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials or labor to Operations Manager.
  • Work closely with supporting staff such as Production Planner/Scheduler, Shipping & Receiving, Manufacturing Engineer, other Leads Supervisors, etc. to resolve issues and answer questions.
  • Actively participate on cycle counting and inventory accuracy within your department to fulfill all Inventory Control and Workrite's auditor team requirements.
  • Escalate labor shortages to Operations Manager and provide input into the performance of team members as assigned.
  • Coordinate regular employee team communication and training of required procedures regarding work assignments, safety, quality and their performance.
  • Monitor adherence to 5s and drive improvement efforts within your area, as well as to cooperate with crossfunctional team members to make improvements as needed.
  • Annually perform performance reviews and improvement plans on Dayforce with each team member reporting to this position and provide feedback to Operations Manager.
  • Measure, chart and monitor predefined performance metrics and provide reports as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean department, adhering to all safety regulations and participate in the Safety Committee.
  • Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by quality standards.

Requirements:

Work Experience: 3+ years' experience in Production supervision or management in a manufacturing setting. Expertise in leading and coaching teams with more than 6 people, Lean manufacturing and continuous process improvement.

Education:High School Diploma or equivalent

Technical Skills:Ability to record, monitor and interpret production times, raw material usage and finished products; thorough knowledge about supervision people, ability to read and understand work instructions; Ability to analyze work at hand and decide best manufacturing procedures.

Computer Skills:Experience working with MRP/ERP systems like Syteline, Oracle, Epicor or similar. Proficient computer knowledge and ability; Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook and others as role scope
