JOB OVERVIEW
- The AME Apprentice assists on line and shop maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with
Project Maintenance:
The Mechanical Apprentice works under a Licensed AME's supervision on line and heavy maintenance projects, involving:
- Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner
- Taking responsibility for quality of own work and fixing mistakes where required
- Engaging in basic trouble shooting on assigned task
- Reporting to the Crew Chief any unserviceable condition discovered
Demonstrated Technical Skills:
The Mechanical Apprentice is expected to be able to demonstrate their capability to perform the following technical functions:
- Layout of basic SRM repair with mínimal assistance
- Learn to thoroughly understand systems such as air conditioning, hydraulics, engines, flight controls, landing gear, avionics, electrical generation, oxygen, fuel, pneumatics on multiple aircraft
- Able to inspect and identify defects
- Able to find and read applicable drawings
- Basic troubleshooting knowledge
- Wearing all appropriate personal protective equipment
- Maintaining good housekeeping standards
Documentation:
The Mechanical Apprentice is responsible to become familiar with general KF Aerospace paperwork and parts ordering, which involves:
- Ensuring appropriate documentation is complete and submitting to an endorsed AME or Crew Chief for ACA approval
REQUIREMENTS
- Graduation from a Transport Canada accredited "Approved Aircraft Maintenance M Program"
- Must be able to obtain and retain a Transport Canada Airport Pass
- Basic computer skills
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work safely with basic hand tools
- Able to read technical manuals and drawings
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Able to take direction from others
- Quick learner
- Ability to work 40 hours a week in a rotating shiftwork environment
- Ability to travel, as required
- Must be physically fit
HOURS OF WORK
- This is a shift work position which will require you to work days, evenings, and weekends. KF Aerospace works on a 3week rotating shift schedule

As an
AME Apprentice with KF Aerospace you can start a rewarding career with a team of people who are passionate about their craft.
$23.50 with bi-annual performance and wage reviews. An employee can increase their wage up to
$30.00 as an Apprentice before obtaining their Transport Canada License.
Apprentices are expected to work towards filling out their Logbook & achieving their Transport Canada license.
Once you have achieved your Transport Canada License, your wage will increase to
$34.30 per hour **with room to grow into Senior AME & Shift Lead roles.
