This specialist also provides technical expertise for the acquisition, development, implementation, administration and support of complex large-scale information systems and technical environments.
These services are essential to enable WPS staff to provide public safety and law enforcement services and communicate with stakeholders including citizens.
- Administer, support and ensure the efficient operation of the WPS Cloud environments
- Provide technical expertise and problemsolving skills to contribute towards the acquisition, development, implementation, administration and support of complex largescale information systems
- Continuously improve technical skills, organizational knowledge, and awareness of emerging technologies in order to adapt to change and improve service delivery
Your education and qualifications include:
- University Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science (or related field), or College Diploma in Information Technology/Computer Science (or related field) and demonstrated equivalent amount of experience
- Minimum of 36 months' progressive experience in cloud technologies from major providers (such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, etc.) within the last 5 years
- Expert knowledge of the O365 suite, including but not limited to: Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Purview
- Expert knowledge of Cloud offerings from the largest providers (Azure, GCP, and AWS),including experience with both IaaS and PaaS solutions
- Thorough knowledge of Azure security controls, particularly conditional access, authentication methods, multifactor authentication, and role assignments
- Knowledge and experience in PowerShell scripting including Azure Cloud Shell, and Exchange Online PowerShell
- Thorough knowledge, experience and skills with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies
- Thorough knowledge, experience and skills with Microsoft Windows Server and desktop operating systems
- Knowledge, experience, and skills with VMware environments
- Basic knowledge, experience, and skills in networking, IT security, and network storage
- Ability to plan, design, and lead through a business and technical riskbased approach
- Ability to address issues including assess severity and probability of risk, determine priorities, propose mitigations/solutions, develop and implement new procedures, and implement appropriated remediation activities
- Knowledge of an internal PKI, including issuance/template configuration/revocation for user and machinebased authentication
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of computer systems software, hardware, and techniques
- Demonstrated ability to analyze system problems and to carry out corrective actions
- Ability to plan and implement components within largescale systems implementation projects
- Ability to successfully multitask with frequent interruptions, complete assignments in a timely manner, and coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective and positive working relationship
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities and circumstances as well as the ability to work on diverse projects simultaneously
- The ability to establish and maintain a positive, respectful, safe and healthy work environment that supports the physical, psychological and social working relationships with members at all levels in a team environment
Minimum requirements:
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Minimum 18 years of age
- No involvement in any criminal activity within the last two years (including illegal drugs)
- No criminal record for which a Pardon has not been granted
Conditions of Employment:
- Ability to pass a level 3 Winnipeg Police Service security check and maintain clearance
- Possess and maintain a valid Class 5.0 Driver's License
- Ability to successfully complete additional training as defined by the Service
- Willingness and ability to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required by the Service
