We are looking for a self-motivated and highly engaged Unit Clerk to join our team.UNIT CLERK - Temporary Part-Time 12 Month Contract
SPECIALIZED CARE CENTRE (SCC): 1020 McNICOLL AVE, SCARBOROUGH, ON

***Reporting to the Patient Care Manager of the unit, the Unit Clerk performs various administrative and clerical duties to support the patient care unit. Manages day to day staff scheduling as per the collective agreements under the direction of the Patient Care Manager.
Our Unit Clerk position may be required to support both our main site and satellite sites (Harbour Lights and Tendercare).
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Graduation Diploma (OAC) with 3 to 5 years of related or administrative experience or 1 to 2 years of Community College with 1 to 2 years of related administrative experience.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Polite & efficient telephone manner.
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and also proven ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills.
- Minimum 40 wpm keyboarding/data entry speed
- Skilled at setting priorities and handling multiple tasks simultaneously; demonstrated flexibility and initiative
- Must have the physical strength, flexibility and endurance required to perform the job, as determined by the physical needs assessment of the position conducted by Corporate Occupational Health and Safety.
MAIN RESPONSIBILTIES
Customer Service and Support
- Creates and maintains a customerfocused reception environment
- Provides effective communication of information to internal and external customers
- Maintains the patient record
- Schedules patients' appointments (external)
- Coordinates patient transportation and escorts as required
- Manages day to day scheduling as per the collective agreement and on the direction of the patient care coordinator
- Maintains clerical supplies for the health care team.
- Time and Attendance entries and assist with the queries
- Responsible for Patient Care Conference calendar (General/CCC/quarterly, annual or ad hoc)
- Participates in continuous quality improvement activities that improve the quality of the patient care environment
- Promotes the maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace
- Responsible for minute taking at monthly staff meetings or other meetings as required by PCM.
- Other duties as required.
Commendation in 2021 by Accreditation Canada
Job Types:

$22.43-$26.78 per hour
