Manager, Data Services.

Job Information:


As the Manager within Data Services, you will lead the Data Services team in its mission of providing best-in-class meter data management services for retail and wholesale clients.

Reporting to the Senior Director Technology and Enterprise Data, you will be accountable for collection, verification and validation and processing of energy data in support of Rodan's industry-leading energy intelligence programs and product offerings.

You will be a "quarterback" for Customer data acquisition onboarding (into our energy intelligence systems) and for data Customer submissions to electricity system operators.

You will also be supporting and coordinating projects and innovative technology introductions and ensuring operations excellence in Rodan Data Services.

You will be required to work at our Corporate HQ in Mississauga a minimum of 4 days per week to attend and participate in workshops, projects, or team meetings.


Main Responsibilities & Duties:

_Team Management and Operations_

  • Actively manage and lead the Data Services team
  • Lead the development of Rodan's data strategy, annual work program and budget
  • Develop performance relevant to Data Services metrics and KPIs and act when KPIs not met
  • Identify opportunities for new meter data technologies or data architecture to improve performance
  • Collaborate continuously with team members to identify and implement process improvements and best practices, to enhance efficiency and productivity, including managing datarelated projects
  • Set team priorities to meet Rodan's business objectives

_Customer Onboarding_

  • Interface with metering service providers, utilities, field services and customers regarding the provision of metering data

_Energy Data Acquisition and Processing_

  • Manage and coordinate the monthly meter data aggregation and submission process (ETL) and ensure that meter settlement data is collected, processed, validated and promptly submitted to internal stakeholders in line with internal expectations and SLAs
  • Ensure that Rodan's meter databases contain accurate, current and complete meter data
  • Identify and resolve meter data system anomalies or issues, test and document changes for resolution and continuous improvement
  • Review the effectiveness of existing meter data management processes and act where gaps or improvement opportunities have been identified
  • Implement and support new energy data flows and related technology as Rodan enters new markets and product offerings

Requirements:


  • Relevant postsecondary education from an accredited college or university (such as but not limited to Mathematics or Computer Science)
  • 3+ years managing and leading operational and project teams in the data services realm
  • Experience and expertise in data acquisition from remote data capture systems into internal data intelligence systems
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet quick turnaround times
  • Understanding of the "big picture" and downstream impact of work on other teams
  • Experience in developing and tracking operational metrics related to meter data acquisition
  • Solid analytical and problemsolving skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
