Profile

The Facilities Manager is accountable for oversight and management of Calgary facilities.

This role manages minor and major projects related to facility upkeep and improvements while optimizing the use of each facility and equipment.

The Environmental and Facilities Manager is a key member of the management team who works closely with all Managers, Supervisors, Personnel and security/regulatory officials (i.e. Airport security) to ensure objectives are achieved on time and on budget.

Duties & Responsibilities
Environmental

  • Leads the planning, implementation, coordination and auditing of Company Policy on environmental programs
  • Ensures all Regional, Provincial and Federal environmental standards and regulations are adhered to
  • Leads company programs on the 3R's
  • Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
  • Leading the facilities division in successfully achieving the departmental goals and objectives
Facilities Maintenance

  • Organizes and directs the Facilities Maintenance activities to ensure efficient and timely use of resources while repairing and maintaining buildings, grounds, systems, equipment, electrical, plumbing, etc.
  • Plans, implements and coordinates a Total Productive Maintenance program within the Company
  • Manages contractors and service providers who complete facilities and equipment related projects and repairs
  • Maintains relations with all facility and environmental specific regulatory bodies i.e. CRD, VAA, Environment Canada, etc
  • Ensures the security of buildings and contents
  • Keep up to date on trends to forecast maintenance based on usage
  • Accountable for complete oversight of YYC facilities
  • Perform any other related project or task as required
Experience

  • 5 years minimum experience as an Environmental Management professional
  • 5 years minimum experience in the Maintenance or Facilities Management Field
  • Previous experience leading a team is considered an asset
- building/implementing a Total Productive Maintenance is considered an asset


Education and Professional Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering Degree, or related field
  • Technical degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related field
  • Power engineering or experience with Asset Management software such as MEXX is considered an asset

Skills:


  • Project management
  • Contracts and negotiations
  • Dealing with Multiple projects and contracts

Physical Requirement:


  • This position requires the ability to walk, stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
