About the Fleet Coordinator/ Purchasing position:
Currently, we are seeking an experienced and highly organized Fleet Coordinator/ Purchaser to join our Purchasing team in Burnaby.

This is a unique role, with an opportunity to make a large impact on how purchasing and inventory in managed at Houle.


This role will oversee the maintenance and purchasing associated to our companies fleet of vehicles, as well as the purchasing responsibilities related to our Prefab warehouse.


Fleet Coordinator/ Purchasing Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule vehicle maintenance, inspections and repairs
  • Perform purchasing duties associated with the fleet including insurance, outfitting, disposal etc.
  • Track and report on fleet assets and prefab inventory
  • Research and negotiate with suppliers and vendors on procurement for vehicles and Prefab supplies/equipment
  • Generate regular reports on procurement activities
  • Assist in the administration of internal tool management program
  • Collaborate with Procurement team on strategies to reduce total inventory costs.

Experience and Skills:


  • Completed post secondary education related to purchasing or supply chain management
  • Experience as a fleet coordinator or similar capacity
  • Experience as purchaser/buyer preferably in the construction industry
  • Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience using JD Edwards an asset
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Good communication skills and an ability to work with individuals in different areas of the company
  • Preference to those with a background in the electrical industry.
