Job Summary
Painters report to the designated Supervisor/Lead Hand. The painter is responsible for the Quality of all product being sent through the industrial paint line as well as maintaining a safe, clean, functioning paint booth and work area
Responsibilities
- Wear proper PPE
- Responsible for completing all related daily paperwork (prestarts, chemical checks, pH level checks, and adhesion checks).
- Proper start and stop operation of the paint line/paint booth
- Maintain all temperatures and water levels associated with the paint line (wash tanks 1, 2 & 3, dry off oven and curing oven) via circle checks throughout the shift.
- Determine paint flow and coating quality by performing regular visual and thickness checks on all products.
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of machines, wash tank screens, paint guns and paint booth.
- Regular observation of machine gauges and equipment operation to ensure proper air pressure and circulation and detect any defects or deviations from standards and adjust as necessary.
- Proper paint gun adjustments, set ups, and line speed for 100% quality on all product as product height, length and weight change.
- Responsible for selecting appropriate paint colours as per direction from supervisor/lead hand
- Perform touch up painting as required
- Perform powder colour changes in a safe and timely manner
- Safely operate manual guns and chemical pumps when required
- Ensure that the required powder paint is available for both the current run and the next designated run in the sequence
- Report any hazards and/or maintenance related issues to your Supervisor or Lead Hand immediately.
- Ensure paint booth and work area is set up for next scheduled shift
- Communicate the number of powder paint boxes used to Supervisor/Lead Hand at the end of shift.
- Keep a safe, neat, and tidy work area.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
- Previous manufacturing experience considered an asset.
- Very good physical condition and strength.
- Ability to do basic addition/subtraction to count parts.
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
- Previous painting experience in manufacturing environment
Scope:
- Full time 40 hours per week Monday-Friday
- Rotating day and afternoon shift
- Overtime as required or offered
Job Types:
