Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure and Network Operations, the incumbent actively takes a technical leading role in transforming functional requirements or a system into a set of architectural and design documents that can be used by a project's technical team for implementing a solution.
The technical lead is responsible for matching the appropriate technologies to the problem being solved while ensuring that the proposed solution aligns with the College's longer term strategies and goals as laid out in the College's enterprise architecture and guiding principles.
This position ensures the overall responsibility for the security, efficiency, effectiveness, evaluation, utilization, modernization and interoperability of clients, software, servers, networking, inter/intranet and data communications resources.
This resource is also responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of the College's system and enterprise architectures and guiding principles for system deployment and operation.
Required Qualifications- Three (3) year diploma/degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent;- Microsoft MCSE and/or MCSA certification;- Minimum eight (8) years' experience:
- Extensive working experience with a wide variety of complex technical infrastructure including server hardware, virtualization platforms, storage solutions, and networking components.-
- Very familiar with operating systems and systems administration on a variety of platforms.-
- Well-versed in enterprise architecture components, system design and documentation.-
- Demonstrated in-depth technical knowledge of supporting and administering Microsoft Windows servers in a large complex environment.-
- Demonstrated experience with Windows server:
- Active Directory and DDNS.
- Data management infrastructures such as experience with SAN systems, NAS Systems, or iSCSI.
- Database administrator to Microsoft SQL server or equivalent.
- Administering web services such as IIS or equivalent (such as Apache).
- Knowledge of LAN communication protocols (TCP/IP).
- Experience designing test plans and evaluating effectiveness;
- Participation in knowledge sharing and mentorship;
- Proven success with projects involving the skills and technologies above, with a portfolio of references to speak for the work.
