ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a highly motivated, team-orientated individual to join our Ministry of Education team as an
Education Administrative Supervisor.

Reporting to the Education Manager or their delegate, the primary objective of the role is to coordinate all operational and administrative support for the Ministry of Education.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide supervision to the Ministry of Education administrative staff by performing duties such as assigning work, monitoring and providing feedback on performance, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate the daytoday operational needs for the Ministry of Education.
  • Creating, improving, and maintaining organized systems across the Ministry of Education and ensuring that all MNBC policies and guidelines are reflected throughout the workflow process.
  • Collaborate within MNBC to come up with realistic and efficient improvements regularly.
  • Support in the reviewing of Ministry of Education program enrollments and registrations to determine eligibility.
  • Assists with managing the financial integrity and accountability of MNBC Education programming by processing and tracking Ministry expenditures and reporting out as required.
  • Support with the procurement and distribution of resources, materials, and supplies including preparing purchase orders, processing various mailouts.
  • Delegating tasks to ensure proper workflow.
  • Establishing career goals and objectives for reporting staff.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met for key projects and tasks.
  • Addressing any concerns or issues identified by reporting staff.
  • Overseeing inventory needs and undertaking office management and administration.
  • Generate spreadsheets, reports and other documents as required.
  • Assist with additional projects as needed.
  • Actively participate as a critical member of the Ministry of Education team to create solutions that advance the successful, efficient, and effective delivery of MNBC's Ministry of Education initiatives.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Diploma in Office Administration, Business, or related field.
  • Two (2) Years of supervisory experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in an administrative capacity.
  • Combination of relevant experience, education, and training will be considered.
  • Knowledge and/or awareness of the historical and contemporary contributions made by Métis people in B.C.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability keep a positive attitude in a fastpaced environment and motivate and instill positivity within a team
  • Ability to lead, problemsolve, and utilize teambuilding skills.
  • Proven ability to utilize strong interpersonal skills to deal with others effectively.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work with mínimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to utilize, adapt and embrace new technologies, including Word, Excel and others.
  • Proven ability to utilize, adapt and embrace new technologies, including Office 365 and other database/software required by the role.

OTHER COMMENTS

  • Other duties may be assigned as needed to help ensure the efficient operation of MNBC.
  • There will be a need to attend meetings and events which may require work and travel outside of normal business hours.
  • Ability to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
