Project Manager - Remote, Canada - Sigma Workforce Solutions
Description
We are currently seeking experienced Project Managers to join their team. This client is a leading Construction and Contracting company specializing in sewer water/wastewater and general contracting.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide project management and supervision for construction and major redevelopment projects, overseeing contract preparation, construction supervision, and financial control.
- Represent Owners and Clients, leading project teams through the full project life cycle, including Pre-Design, Design, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Operational Readiness, and oneyear warranty reviews.
- Manage all aspects of a project, taking direct accountability for meeting and exceeding established goals, including scope, schedule, budget, procurement, quality, and risk.
- Establish preliminary and final budgets for capital construction and redevelopment projects; provide guidance and supervision to Project Leaders and parttime staff.
- Supervise staff, offering ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
- Assist in the annual capital budget process, ensuring adherence to Divisional guidelines; interpret architectural and engineering specifications and drawings.
- Advise Senior Staff on construction delivery methods and resourcing strategies; analyze and recommend acceptance of consultant and construction contracts.
- Liaise with authorities to ensure timely permit approval and maintain project schedules.
- Develop and implement a communication plan for projects, maintain written reports/meeting minutes, and track progress and status.
- Direct and monitor project construction schedules, approve progress payments, and coordinate building handover and commissioning.
- Ensure receipt of CADbased asbuilt drawings and coordinate input from operations, maintenance, and asset planning staff during design and construction phases.
- Evaluate the performance of consultants, contractors, and team members, coordinating the resolution of design and construction deficiencies.
- Recognize indicators of material failures or aging, evaluate facilities' conformance with applicable codes and regulations, and recommend appropriate remedial action.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- College Diploma/Engineering Degree.
- Over 810 years of successful experience in major building design and construction.
- PMP and LEED designations preferred.
- Experience in managing consultants/contractors.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership/supervisory experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of project management experience.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Solid background in preparing and administering consulting and construction agreements.
- Accounting/budgeting experience.
- Solid report writing and presentation skills.
- Valid driver's license.
