Operations Service Manager for
Winnipeg, Manitoba.


As the Operations Service Manager, you will be accountable for all of Winnipeg's service operations and act as the catalyst to improve performance of the Calmont branch by streamlining internal processes and training.

This role is to effectively and efficiently manage the development and direction of the service team to drive the growth of revenue, technical productivity and promote high quality customer satisfaction while building relationships and ensuring the integration of strategic plans with company operations.

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Service Department.

Operational requirements include the marketing and profitability of the department, the capacity and efficiency at which it is operating, the quality of the work being performed, and follow-up of workshop statistics.

You will also be responsible for the effective and proactive management of staff resources to facilitate employee retention, productivity, and job satisfaction which are the keys to achieving operational success.

Other job duties include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring that budget requirements are met. Reviewing monthly statements compared to budget and recommend and implement improvements as required.
Reviewing operating procedures, followed by recommending and implementing improvements.
Monitoring performance, productivity and proficiency and making recommendations.
Following-up on customer complaints and ensuring they are handled properly.
Ensuring that staffing levels are satisfactory and recommend plans and procedures.
Reviewing rate surveys and information, then recommending and implementing rate adjustments for door rates and wages.
Monitoring and recommending disciplinary action, as required.
Monitoring training for technicians and service administration staff, and recommending and implementing training as required.
Monitoring repairs and recommending and implementing improvements to various procedures.
Reviewing and ensuring correct billing internal/external.
Ensuring that safety policy is followed and playing an active role in the safety culture.
Ensure the execution of Apprentices' training program and sign off on hours.
Instruct service technicians of the scope of intended work to be performed.

What We're Looking For


JOB REQUIREMENTS DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED.
Journeyman status Heavy Equipment Technician.
5 or more year's previous management experience in a heavy duty service environment with proven leadership abilities.
Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
Energetic and friendly with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and organize workload in a fast paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines.
A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
