Are you a seasoned accounting and finance professional with a forward-thinking mindset that combines an operational viewpoint with a dedication to financial oversight? Would you like to leverage your expertise in a Manitoba-based company with a proven track record of success? This opportunity for a Controller involves a supervisory and strategic role, reporting directly to the Vice President / General Manager of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Manage all accounting and finance aspects for the organization, establishing and upholding financial controls to protect company assets.
Oversee job costing for projects and analyze job profitability.
Monitor progress billing throughout each project lifecycle.
Prepare monthly and yearly financial statements.
Provide detailed financial updates to senior management.
Set financial benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards on a regular basis.
Implement internal control systems to ensure financial statement accuracy.
Analyze financial records to track progress towards targets.
Evaluate financial metrics and conduct due diligence on financial and operational matters.
Mentor the finance and accounting team, establish accounting processes and controls, and offer ongoing guidance to support business operations.

- Ensure compliance with government regulations including CRA, GST, and PST.

Drive continuous and process improvements for enhanced organizational efficiency.

Requirements:

Hold a recognized Canadian accounting designation, CPA (CA, CGA, CMA) with previous experience in manufacturing, construction, or distribution.
Ability to build processes and teams, hands-on approach, and manage multiple projects and tasks.
Strong background in Job Costing and manufacturing is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of strategic finance and leadership experience, with technical accounting proficiency balancing operational needs with financial reporting.
Excellent communication skills, capable of leading and collaborating with staff at various levels and in diverse industries.
Proficient in IT and accounting systems, strong knowledge of MS Excel.

Salary:
$85,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
