JOB SUMMARY
The team lead is responsible for supporting the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor.

They will maintain production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished products.

Responsible for inventory management.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES

  • Responsible for the receiving, putaway, picking, packing, crossdocking, and/or shipping of customer orders in a highpaced environment, ensuring our customers receive what they need as per the shipping schedule.
  • Maintain counting, weighing, sorting, packing, and unpacking of various materials.
  • Maintain accuracy of Finished material inventory.
  • Ensure proper scanning of all materials before issuing to production line using the scanner
  • Prepare all the orders well in advance for the next day as per listings provided.
  • Responsible for cleaning, organizing, and labelling relevant products.
  • Requisition supplies and materials and follow up on deliveries.
  • Ensure smooth operation of computer systems, material handling equipment (Walkies, Reach, stackers etc.), arrange for maintenance and repair work if required.
  • Must manage and coordinate shipping/receiving team as well as coordinate with production staff, to ensure that products are moved efficiently and effectively.
  • Must report damaged shipments/material, shortages to the supervisor.
  • Train new shippers/receivers.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace, and report health & safety related concerns, upholding our commitment to Health & Safety.
  • Maintain/organize inventory on daily basis.
  • Performs additional duties related to the role as assigned by the Supervisor.

PLANNING AND DECISION MAKING


A lead hand must be constantly aware of the performance levels of others and willing to bring them to management's attention in order that management may address any concerns.

Must be aware of any process of system deficiencies and be willing to brings concerns and/or suggestions to management.


KEY COMPETENCIES

  • 2 + years of related work experience.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to operate all types of material handling equipment in the facility.
  • Excellent understanding of supplychain logistics management and carrier routing requirements.
  • Working knowledge of corporate safety program and emergency preparedness plans.
  • Cooperative attitude toward coworkers and supervisors.
  • Create and maintain an efficient, hygienic, and positive working environment
  • Promote health and safety in the workplace
  • Display good work ethic, resourcefulness, and organization.
  • Understand the Standard Operating Procedures and Inspection Regulations.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

  • Must have a Raymond reach/stacker license.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Refrigerated/frozen shipping/storage areas. Intermittent exposure to outdoor conditions
  • Combination of standing/walking/lifting and sitting
  • Occasional stair climbing
