Job Summary

  • Reporting to the Director, JBI Centre of Excellence, the Knowledge Synthesis Research Associate will work within the Centre team, while having the primary responsibility of leading and supporting the development of systematic reviews, scoping as well as rapid reviews managing both the methodological and administrative aspects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and support activities of the JBI centre.
  • Lead and manage systematic reviews, scoping and rapid reviews including quality appraisal/risk of bias.
  • Write protocols and reports for publication.
  • Assist in setting and implementing project goals.
  • Collect and enter study related data.
  • Present research related information, including written study reports when necessary.
  • Plan and participate in team meetings and activities.
  • Support development of a range of Knowledge Synthesis (KS) and dissemination products i.e., onepage summaries, infographics, presentations, etc.
  • Prepare derived datasets for statistical analysis.
  • Prepare statistical plans and reports.
  • Contribute to statistical analysis.
  • Assist investigators in the interpretation and implementation of study protocols.
  • Assist investigators in the initiation of new synthesis research projects.
  • Organize yearly Comprehensive Systematic Review Training program.
  • Manage centre administration, including productivity tracking, meeting scheduling and event management.
  • Handle general office duties e.g. record keeping, filing, faxing, mailings, photocopying, etc.

Note

  • To meet operational requirements, evening and weekend work may be required on an exceptional basis, along with adaptation to the regular work schedule.

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.


Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in library science or information or a healthrelated discipline with related experience supporting evidence synthesis in the health sciences.
  • Knowledge of epidemiological concepts.
  • Proven training in the conduct of systematic reviews (JBI and/or Cochrane).
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and qualitative research skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with systematic reviews.
  • Familiarity with quality appraisal tools, and synthesis software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to learn new skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner and flexibility to adapt to changing workload.
  • Ability to work independently and as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with a range of software products, including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), reference management software (e.g., Zotero, Endnote), and systematic review software (e.g., Covidence, JBI SUMARI).
  • Experience in knowledge synthesis.
