Position SummaryWith a staff of 3, the Manager, Financial Reporting and Accounting holds a pivotal role within Seapeak's Finance and Accounting Team, primarily responsible for managing the corporate accounting and reporting functions related to Seapeak's 8 joint ventures, ranging in size from 3 to 17 vessels and proportionate assets of $97 million to $1.1 billion. This role also provides support for Seapeak's consolidated, corporate accounting and reporting requirements.

Major Responsibilities

  • Manage the quarter end reconciliation and reporting process for joint venture's directly managed by Seapeak to ensure that information provided to our partners is accurate, timely, and relevant.
  • Serving as Seapeak's primary accounting contact, liaise and maintain good relationships with accounting personnel of various joint venture partners around the world.
  • Manage financial statement preparation and statutory audits for various joint ventures and other accounts within Seapeak to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
  • Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process for Seapeak and its joint ventures.
  • Review and prepare various board materials for Seapeak's joint ventures.
  • Manage certain daytoday operational accounting, which includes liaising and collaborating with international offices.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly consolidated financial statements, Audit Committee materials and other Seapeak corporate reporting, as required.
  • Participate in projects, as required.
  • Implement process changes and improvements.
  • Assist with overseeing the execution of internal control policies, ensuring SOX compliance.
  • Support the external audit process for Seapeak and certain joint ventures.
  • Supervise reporting and accounting staff including hiring, termination, counseling, performance evaluation, goal setting, and development.
  • Participate in the shortterm planning of the department's goals and activities.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • University business degree and professional accounting designation.
  • Experience working with external auditors and/or running complete audits
  • Exposure to business processes, SOX compliant internal controls, and external reporting.
  • Proficiency with computer software (MS Word and Excel).
  • Minimum of five years' experience in the accounting field.
  • Ability to supervise, coach and deal with employee grievances and concerns.
  • Ability to both work with details and at a highlevel.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and experience with report preparation.
  • Excellent organization, time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Preferred_
  • Exposure to US GAAP, IFRS and SEC Reporting.
  • Exposure to Oracle Cloud ERP, SAP BPC and WDesk.
  • Shipping industry experience.

Compensation
Base salary in the range of $100,000-$130,000 plus Annual Bonus Plan. Robust benefits plan and defined pension.
