Position Summary


As a
Mechanical and Electrical Manager, you will report directly to the Director of Field Operations who oversees the performance of all our projects, and you will be heavily involved in the entire construction process from preconstruction to commissioning and close out across multiple locations within the lower mainland.

You are responsible for creating and monitoring project momentum, scheduling, quality control, safety, and delegating work to the project team and sub-contractors.


As a MEIT Manager your key accountabilities will involve:

  • Schedule and monitoring of major mechanical and electrical deliverables.
  • Develop a training program for superintendents and project managers so they have a better understanding of systems
  • Understand codes, engineering standards and specifications
  • Develop and monitor QA/QC program for MEIT scopes
  • Review scope, estimates and budgets
  • Participate in Value Engineering
  • Work with BIM coordinator through clash detection process
  • Conduct site walkthroughs during M&E installations
  • Understand the Building Systems and work directly with the site services, elevator, mechanical and electrical project managers and superintendents to assist in coordinating their work.
  • Understand the complete Building Systems scope including bid documents, VE, Addenda, FF&E, etc. and be familiar with contracts to assure trade compliance.
  • Monitor the subcontractor progress against the project schedule and ensure appropriate manpower levels are maintained. Report findings to the Site Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Review and verify progress payments of the Site Services, Elevator, Mechanical and Elevator subcontracts.
  • Coordinate all facets of project closeout, including commissioning, operation and maintenance manuals, spare part inventory, deficiencies, and warranty work.
  • Lead mechanical and electrical closeout plan development and implementation.
  • Expedite correction of all identified deficient items and verify all items have been corrected prior to reinspection.
  • Perform a constant review of the As-Built drawings and specifications and at project completion, obtain and verify final As-Built drawings and specifications submission for final payment release.

As a MEIT Manager your experience and qualifications will include:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a construction environment in a supervisory position.
  • Strong experience and background knowledge in all aspects of mechanical, electrical and IT systems.
  • Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, people management, project execution, cost control, quality, and administration.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
