Overview / Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- At the planning phase, participate in all levels of engineering M & P reviews. Recognize and promptly address design issues they may have a negative impact during Construction and/or commissioning execution
- Identify startup and running spares for M & P installations. Identify critical spares and lead time for delivery
- Ensure spares for the commissioning execution phase are on site ahead of schedule
- Support the development of a comprehensive M & P Witness/Hold program
- Review detailed test procedures and ensure safety is integrated into the procedure
- Work closely with each discipline ensure an overall integrated test plan is developed
- Ensure a high standard of discipline support is provided across the project consistently
- Review and signoff contractor dossiers. Perform detailed M&P subsystem walkdowns, identify and log additional deficiencies and validate existing construction deficiencies
- Manage and schedule contractor workfaces and ensure continual compliance with scopes and specifications
- Support the Turnover & Handover processes, CM to completions
- Validate M & P installations are in compliance with project design, specifications and applicable codes
- Ensure M & P field installations are in accordance with vendor specifications where applicable
- Validate M & P equipment preservation at the time of subsystem turnover
- Actively participate in construction's integrity testing program in accordance with the project's "Witness / Hold" program
- Assist in the identification, documentation and communication of the organization's deliverables and dependencies across the project
- Clearly identify crossproject interfaces
Skills / Qualifications:
- 10+ years' project experience in mining or heavy industrial projects
- Prior construction experience in the Mechanical discipline
- Superior knowledge of the project's construction QSA and HSSE processes
- Superior knowledge of testing and compliance standards, vendor or other
- Previous experience working on large scale industrial projects
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Canada is required
