Kitchen Assistant:

Permanent Part-Time (15 hours/Week)

REPORTS TO:

Supervisor, Humberwood Child Care Centre

***: Serve and clean up lunches, prepare afternoon snacks, maintain a clean, organized and sanitary kitchen, and perform household duties as assigned. This position is currently based at the
Humberwood CCC.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve lunches and prepare afternoon snacks following applicable procedures, guidelines, protocols and best practices
Maintain current uptodate knowledge of children's allergies, including consulting posted allergy lists
Serve food substitutions, consulting posted allergy lists, for children with allergies or dietary restrictions
Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary kitchen in compliance with required public health and municipal standards
Assist in the washing of laundry
Work in compliance with the CCEYA, the Toronto Operating Criteria, Toronto Public Health guidelines, Canada's Food Guide, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, the Smoke Free Ontario Act and all other applicable regulations and laws

QUALIFICATIONS:

Food Handlers Certificate
WHMIS trained
Knowledge of proper use of kitchen equipment
Ability to do heavy lifting and bending
Good time management and organizational skills
Good written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Acceptable Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check

SALARY:

Kitchen Assistant Hourly Rate ($17.50/Hour)
