Description

"How do you live in the moment?"

The Recreation Associate reports to the Life Enrichment Manager and is expected to demonstrate commitment to resident well-being by implementing high-quality activities in accordance with the organization's vision and mission.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Life Enrichment Manager in the planning and implementation of recreation activities designed to meet individual needs and interests according to established standards
Know how to and demonstrate evidence of increasing individual's wellbeing and reducing illbeing
Organize supplies and equipment as needed,
Set up program area as needed,
Keep attendance and document Resident participation in activities,
Encourage Residents to attend programs,
Assist Residents to and from programs,
Meet an individual's physical and personal care needs to a highquality standard and with sensitivity.
Other duties as assigned and or indicated in the Job Task Inventory

Qualifications:
The qualifications needed to join our family are as follows:

A college diploma in leisure services is an asset,
Ability to read, write and understand English,
Highly organized and able to work independently,
Excellent communication skills,
Must enjoy working with the elderly in a setting that promotes optimum independence, dignity and respect,
Ability to use your imagination to engage others
Must have high energy and a sense of fun,
Ability to have meaningful engagements with others
Clear vulnerable sector screening (w/ in last 6 months), recent TB test results (w/ in last 6 months) or Chest Xray (w/ in last 1 yr), and two supervisory references required
