Shop/Yard Hand
Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Shop/Yard Hand is a key member of Southview's team. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in repairing and maintaining the fleet.

Responsibilities:

Assist in performing preventative and predictive maintenance on all equipment
Help mechanics in diagnosing cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications
Maintain a clean and tidy personal work area and assist with general cleaning duties in the workshop and yard
Maintain a daily record of all work tasks and materials
Responsible for assisting mechanics with regular paperwork
Support and encourage continuous improvement in work practices
Perform related work as required

Requirements:

A G driver's license is the minimum requirement needed
A 310 S and 310 T certification is preferred but not required
Must possess and exhibit strong safety acumen and demonstrate safe work practices
Previous experience in the hydrovac or trucking industry preferred
Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervision
Operate and maintain Company's equipment in a safe and professional manner
Properly document all Company, Federal, Provincial and Customer documentation/paperwork as required by law and or established policy in a clear and legible manner

Essential Physical Functions

Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty
Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl
Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Must be able to climb ladders, and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights
Must be capable of working extended hours and variable shifts
Must be eligible to work in Canada
