Job Summary

Pet Valu Canada is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Administrator.

The Cloud Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting technology solutions throughout the organization with a focus on GCP, Azure and Microsoft 365 solutions.

The role requires both broad and deep technology knowledge to address common business problems across the technology spectrum.

This individual will play a vital role in the management, maintenance, and optimization of our cloud-based infrastructure. They will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the cloud systems.

This individual will partner closely with vendors as well as the internal Digital, Infrastructure, Project Management, Security, and Enterprise Applications teams.

  • Ensures that internal controls are used to mitigate risks around cloud solution are in place and operating effectively.
  • Understanding of Cloud Architecture within a retail IT landscape.
  • Provide accurate and timely recommendations to management for decision making purposes by analyzing current systems and processes to understand the system.

  • Improve the Technology process through analytics, automation, and continuous improvement of processes.
  • Deploy and manage cloud resources (e.g., virtual machines, storage, databases) using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Monitor and maintain the performance, security, and availability of cloud services.
  • Implement automation and orchestration to streamline cloud provisioning and management processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloudrelated issues and incidents.
  • Stay uptodate with industry trends and certifications in cloud technologies.
  • Management of all Google Cloud Platform resources and other cloud related systems.
  • Assist in the implementation and ongoing use of DevSecOps tools and processes.
  • Provide support for data related services and deployments.
  • Manage and monitor production systems to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Demonstrate exceptional problemsolving skills, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they affect business productivity.
  • Create, update, and maintain documentation of all technology processes and components.
  • Implement change management practices in accordance with central standards.
  • Provide afterhours support as needed for critical systems.
  • Balance the emergent needs of external teams with the technical initiatives of the Cloud Engineering Team.
  • Provide impact assessments for changes proposed on the GCP core platform.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications

  • University graduation or equivalent experience
  • 35 years of IT system administration experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in cloudrelated roles.
  • Handson experience with cloud services and deployments.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, architectures, and services.
  • Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • MS Office Product Experience
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or equivalent (e.g. Azure Fundamentals, Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer) required.
