Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:


  • Supervise all workers and duties during the unloading, storage, handling and loading of grain.
  • Write all the necessary reports for the followup of the work.
  • Plan the unloading and loading of vessels with the aim of optimizing production.
  • Coordinate transfers made with the goal of maximizing available storage space while minimizing them to safeguard grain quality.
  • Plan and execute the addition of fumigant, insecticide and dye when necessary to meet client needs.
  • Inspect facilities to ensure cleanliness and safe conditions for employees, including the protection of facilities.
  • Schedule and coordinate facility maintenance following inspections.
  • Plan, organize, direct and control building maintenance work.
  • Supervise the concierge.
  • Observe and maintain the cleanliness of receiving and shipping equipment as well as storage and work areas.
  • Sampling and inspection of grain during loading, unloading and sanitary inspections.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by his/her supervisor.
- _Superviser les travaux et le personnel lors du déchargement, entreposage, manutention et chargement du grain._
- _Rédiger tous les rapports nécessaires pour le suivi des travaux._
- _Faire la planification des travaux de déchargement et chargement des navires avec le souci d'optimiser la production._
- _Planifier les transferts faits dans le but de maximiser l'espace d'entreposage disponible tout en ayant le souci de les réduire au minimum pour sauvegarder la qualité du grain._
- _Planifier et exécuter l'addition de fumigeant, insecticide et colorant lorsque nécessaire pour répondre aux besoins des clients._
- _Faire l'inspection des installations pour assurer la propreté et des conditions sécuritaires aux employés incluant la protection des installations._
- _Planifier et coordonner les travaux d'entretien des installations suite aux inspections._
- _Planifier, organiser, diriger et contrôler les travaux d'entretien des bâtiments._
- _Superviser le concierge._
- _Vérifier la propreté des équipements de réception et d'expédition ainsi que des lieux d'entreposage et de travail._
- _Faire l'échantillonnage et l'inspection du grain lors des chargements, déchargements et inspections sanitaires._
- _Exécuter toutes autres tâches connexes à la demande de son supérieur._


Experience/Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses

Required qualification:

  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) or atleast 10 years of industry work experience
  • 5 or more years of supervisory experience within the industry
  • Advanced level of English and French (spoken and written)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities _
(including any physical demands)_

  • Must be physically fit, and able to perform the following duties on a regular basis as part of the demands of the job: work on rotating schedules, work at heights, climb 40foot ladders vertically (boat) and stepladders, work in confined spaces
  • Be available for additional work depending on boat arrivals, outside of normal and scheduled work hours.
  • Must properly and consistently use and wear safety equipment / PPE
  • Team player, who is a strong communicator with excellent judgment, stress management and leadership skills
  • Ability to maintain adaptability in a continuously changing, dynamic, challenging, fastpaced and demanding work environment
  • Ability to maintain organization and compliance with all responsibilities
