Job Description:

We're looking for a Plant Specialist to join our Horticulture team.

You are part of the Plant Specialist team and will work remote based, as you will travel to customers and projects across Canada regularly.

You are also part of our global network of plant specialists in Horticulture LED Solutions, that meets regularly online and incidentally in person (in Europe).

The Signify Horticulture LED Solutions team develops customized 'light recipes' for horticulture that combine crop growth knowledge with lighting technology and AI.

This approach allows growers to harvest a better quality and higher and more predictable yield throughout the year by using a light strategy optimized for their specific situation.

Working with research institutes, universities, growers and partners, we develop optimized lighting strategies to meet a grower's unique needs.

As a Plant Specialist, you'll be responsible supporting customer's projects: you use your crop growth expertise and crop-planning tools to help growers optimize their strategy and advise during and after the sales process.

You will also be closely involved in new developments by setting up and following trials with recipe partners and customers (growers).


What you'll do- Advise growers on implementation of LED, support them in optimizing their lighting strategy and adapting to the new way of growing using your crop growth expertise and modelling tools Share knowledge both internally and externally with customers and partners, by means of customer visits, presentations, reports.

Your qualifications- At least 3 years working experience in the area of growing high-wire or other vegetable greenhouse crops, preferably tomato.- Like to work with customers and colleagues.- A Bachelor or Master degree (preferably in Horticulture)- Willing and liking to visit customers both in BC and across Canada (e.g.

Leamington) and occasionally travel to Europe.- You have affinity to working with excel and other calculation tools to optimize crop planning strategies- Experience with data analysis is a plus- Committed, drive for result- Structured way of working + good communication skills, conscientious and pro-active attitude


To be eligible for this position, you must legally be permitted to work in Canada and travel within North America, without any additional sponsorship support from Signify.
