experienced plumbing and heating Service Journeyman/Journeywoman to join our talented and growing Service division.

  • Is a Journeyman Plumber and licensed class "B" gas fitter that has at least 3 years experience as a journeyman/ foreman in service plumbing
  • Has a good understanding of mechanical plumbing systems. HVAC and Sprinkler systems an asset but not required.
  • Has a good understanding of the current plumbing code
  • Is inherently responsible, detail oriented and cost conscious (labour hours and material costs)
  • Can communicate with office staff, clients, subtrades, vendors, and inspectors with any issues.
  • Practices safe work

Has worked on systems for:


  • Lowrises
  • Warehouses
  • Restaurants
  • Tenant Improvements
  • Townhouses
  • Schools
  • Multilevel Office Buildings

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial plumbing systems.
  • Install, diagnose, and repair infloor and radiant heating systems.
  • Install, diagnose, and repair ondemand hot water systems and combiboilers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Checks, repairs and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, pumps, pipes and other functional components of the system.
  • Knowledge and experience with drain cleaning and camera inspection tool experience.
  • Sewer and water repairs and replacements.
  • Knowledge and experience with roll grooving and threading pipe.
  • Knowledge and experience with ductile iron pipe installations.
  • Septic system knowledge and installation experience an asset.
  • Maintenance and repair of storm and sewer lift pumps.
  • Roughin new residential/commercial plumbing systems.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Project documentation and reporting.
  • Attends training programs as designated/required.
  • Applies all applicable provincial and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Three years or more of related experience.
  • Interprovincial Journeyman Red-Seal in 1 or more trades, Plumber and Gasfitter.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of building trades is required.
  • Maintains professionalism and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
  • Past supervisory experience would be an asset.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Keeps a clean and tidy work environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well alone and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in all provincial and local requirements related to all assigned work.
  • Renovation and new build experience

License/Certification:


  • Driver's license (Novice and above) (required)
  • Plumber Red Seal (required)
  • Gas B License (preferred)
  • Crossconnections (preferred)

You must be living in Canada and possess a valid work permit - no out of country applicants please.

Salary:
$34.00-$45.00 per hour
