The Retiree Program was established in 1984 at Union Gas to assist employees in their transition to retirement, and to maintain connections with the Company and the people that they worked with for so many years.

Following the integration of Enbridge and Spectra Energy in 2019, the Retiree Program was expanded to include legacy Enbridge Gas Distribution areas and today, supports a network of 13 retiree clubs across Ontario, representing more than 1,900 retiree members.

The Retiree Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the Retiree Program's success serving as the connection point between the Company and its Retiree Program members.

The purpose of the Retiree Coordinator role is to:

  • Encourage Enbridge Gas retirees and their partners to regularly connect socially.
  • Promote awareness of the Company's strategy, values and mission so that retirees can be effective community advocates.
  • Foster a culture of mutual aid whereby members of the group or groups would be willing to assist each other whenever it is practical or needed.
  • Support retiree member participation in the annual United Way Campaign and volunteering through cluborganized Community Project Grants.

Responsibilities:


The Retiree Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Providing guidance, coordination and oversight of the Retiree Program.
  • Liaising with Enbridge Gas and the 13 geographic retiree clubs in Ontario.
  • Attending a minimum of 23 events per year with each retiree club.
  • Informing, advising and supporting the retiree clubs through company updates, opportunities to connect with the executive team, volunteer events, United Way participation, and general community involvement.
  • Fostering conversations amongst retirees on the role of natural gas in the energy transition and the value it delivers as an affordable and reliable energy system.
  • Responding to and triaging questions from Retiree Program members, directing them to the appropriate resource where needed to seek answers.
  • Managing and populating timely content on the Retiree Program website and on its Facebook group to keep members apprised of activities and updates.
  • Drafting and distributing two newsletters each Spring and Fall to share company information and key highlights from the Retiree Program.
  • Organizing and leading an Annual General Meeting (AGM) each Spring for retiree club executives to convene, share information, and plan for the future.
  • Spearheading the planning and delivery of the annual Retiree Reunion events to gather members in person to socialize, hear from company leaders, and reflect on the Program's past and upcoming activities.
  • Managing the Retiree Program budget, including the distribution of annual club funding based on an established formula.
  • Collecting annual reports from each retiree club to document membership, number of events hosted, and other activity information.
  • Executing annual agreements with each retiree club outlining the intent of the Retiree Program and subsidized funds provided.
  • Maintaining a list of Retiree Program members that is safeguarded to ensure the protection of personal information.
  • Attending quarterly meetings with Retirement Services to stay apprised of key benefits and pension developments, cascading pertinent information to Retiree Program members.
  • Contributing to monthly and quarterly updates on retiree club activities for the Retiree Program's executive sponsor and general leadership awareness.

Travel:
Travel to retiree club events in Ontario

Note:
a home office with internet access and printer will be required. Company laptop will be provided.

Please note:
Successful applicants will be employees of Raise, working at Enbridge facilities with both Enbridge and contract employees.
