Construction Door Specialist
Reporting to the Director of Modular Wall on all matters. The Construction Door Specialist is responsible for enforcing the standards set by R&D and Building Science.

They will work directly with the Project Execution team, ensuring that they follow the standards through all stages of the project providing training to them as required.

They will manage the trouble shoot process as opportunities arise providing their insight and expertise to close items in an effective and efficient manner.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Education

  • Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
Years of Experience

  • Minimum of 7+ years of working experience.
Working Conditions

  • On site environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures and precautions;
  • Work environment requires wearing PPE in certain locations; and
  • At times requires driving a company vehicle to visit sites and clients.
Manager Level

  • Detail oriented with the ability to read architectural drawings;
  • Knowledgeable in the industry and knows about the products and systems;
  • Ability to act as a mentorship o Drafters and Project Manager's;
  • Participate in the interview process when hiring for the department;
  • Provide training and mentorship to new hires;
  • Demonstrate State's core values and work in a team environment; and
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
Job Specific Duties

  • Set goals and objectives to strategize future implementations;
  • Attend a Kickoff and Scope of Work meeting to discuss what has been priced and included in our scope;
  • Attend flip page reviews with internal and external resources;
  • Provide technical training to address gaps in quality or technical knowledge to address specific needs analysis;
  • Troubleshoot technical issues (field and office) to expedite corrective action and minimize down time;
  • Attend mockup reviews;
  • Champion Lab mock ups and assist with tests;
  • Train staff and installers on standards as required;
  • Assist the R&D team with product development and improvement;
  • Lead training programs to develop technical understanding of Drafters, Project Coordinators, Field Managers, Installers, and other State employees;
  • Coordinate with the R&D department new system, design and/or feature used in the project;
  • Consult with Building Science / R&D / Product Development on drafting variations from State Standards;
  • Attend kick off meeting. Focus
  • Receive hand off of any new product / details / conditions;
  • Lead Root analysis of field, breakdown and drafting non conformance;
  • Enforce all Change Requests (CR) related to scope;
  • Provide interpretation of state standard solutions vetted by appropriate stakeholders;
  • Full scope shop drawings review and technical support for project teams;
  • Assist with technical issues with Drafting, Project and Field teams;
  • Up front work with Preconstruction team, setting up the job for execution;
  • Consulted with R&D on new product development that encompass both technical and practical experience to work through new product/enhancement, shop drawing, breakdown, production, logistics and installation to achieve a quality product completed on time in a safe manner;
  • Enforce standards and solutions;
  • Perform miscellaneous jobrelated duties, if necessary, to meet deadlines;
  • Represent State, as requested, in business with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other public and/or private agencies and organization; and
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Director of Modular Wall
