(seasonal) Field Breeding Research Assistant, Kindersley/Coleville SK
The primary responsibilities of this role, Research Assistant, are to support the activities of the on-site Field Testing Agronomist(s).
This position is located in Kindersley/Coleville, SK and is a 6-month term from mid-April through October, 2023.
What you will do:
- Assist in all aspects of the field trial program, including planting, plot maintenance, data collection and harvesting
- Assist the Field Testing Agronomist and associated members to execute the crop research program, which enables advancement decisions by our scientists and product placement decisions for our customers
- Actively participate in the site SSHE (Sustainability, Safety, Health and Environment) and QMS (Quality Management System) programs
Who you are:
Familiarity with field research methodologies
- Effective English verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to work Overt Time during planting, spraying and harvest seasons
- Knowledge of crop production, farming practices, and farm equipment operation and repair
- Valid driver's license
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Completion or pursuit of an agriculturerelated diploma, degree or MSc considered an asset
- Previous plot research and/or farm experience
- Provincial pesticide applicators license or ability to obtain one
- Valid class 5G driver's license or the ability to obtain one
