Our Total Care Education provides services that can support international students to meet their Academic, Social, Emotional and Physical needs.


The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for different portfolios within the employment life cycle specifically focusing on employee relations, progressive discipline, disability management, recruitment, onboarding, coaching, training, policy development and payroll support but is not limited to these areas.

This position also provides leadership and advisory support to the Human Resources team and management and supervisors in all departments.


Recruitment & Retention:


Onboarding:

Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring that all pre-employment processes and paperwork are completed accurately.

Conduct orientation and deliver compliance-training programs to all new hires.


Employee Relations:

Be the first point of contact to listen to, address employee concerns, and resolve employee grievances.


Policy & Personnel File Management:


Implement and maintain company procedures, HR initiatives, and company policies; update and revise employee handbook as required; audit employee files for compliance/track and resolve compliance issues.


Analytics:

Audits employee files to ensure accuracy.

Prepares analytic and ad hoc reports as requested.

Prepare regular monthly reports for HR and payroll metrics.

Other duties and/or projects as assigned.


Additional Duties:

Acts as a positive and contributing member of the HR team and CIC in unison.

Takes a lead on projects, committees and organizational initiatives.

Partners, coaches and guides managers in situational leadership to address employee-related issues in a timely manner.

Takes a people-centric approach to conflict to ensure equity, fairness and stability.

Balances business needs, operational priorities and timelines to deliver results.

Sets the example of positivity, practicality and leadership within the organization and HR.

Works diligently and efficiently to deliver on HR initiatives and projects.

Supports organization and Human Resources Manager in projects that support the HR strategy and organizational initiatives.

Creates and delivers training material as required for legislative compliance and business needs.

Uses strong time-management and organizational skills to ensure deadlines are met.


Computer Skills:

Advanced Excel skills


Requirements:

Completion of a Human Resources Management Certificate.

An undergraduate degree, and/or College Diploma in Business is an asset.

CHRL designation is preferred.

Minimum 5 years of experience working in an HR Generalist or similar role.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills and extensive working knowledge of Excel, and reporting tools

Expert with ADP Workforce Now system

Knowledgeable of labor legislation and data privacy laws

Strong time management, planning and project management skills

A strong understanding and knowledge of disability management, recruitment, training, policy development and employee engagement.

Strong background in management coaching and conflict resolution techniques.

A team player with a positive and consistent attitude towards challenges and opportunities.

Superior oral and written communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills.

Regular business hours

Flexibility required

One year employment contract
