escription:

The Manager, Media Planning position includes daily interaction with clients, media planning recommendations internally and directly to the client.

Reporting to the Associate Director or Strategy Director, the position oversees preparation of media plans and other deliverables and supervises media plan implementation.

The Manager, Media Planning is also responsible for training and delegating projects to Planners and Assistants and ensuring the growth of more junior team members by ensuring their exposure to all necessary facets of the planning process.

The individual must have strong familiarity with plan options, areas that have been pursued on behalf of a client's business, and the critical list of areas to explore.


Key Responsibilities of the R

ole:


  • Responsible for overall management of client business
  • Develop, execute and present media plans from inception to completion
  • Reviews and investigates synergistic, targeted and new media opportunities
  • Have active deep involvement with client in brainstorming sessions on achieving set goals with "outside of the box" solutions
  • Ensure media plans deliver on client objectives, are strategic and meet efficiency goals
  • Delegate appropriately to Planners and Assistant Planners to support plan development and execution
  • Responsible for the overall client financials, which includes, but is not limited to: billing, ensuring discrepancies and invoice issues are managed in a timely fashion, profitability of clients, etc.
  • Maintain a comprehensive media knowledge base across all channels and synthesize information into ideas proactively keeping abreast of industry trends and sharing knowledge with team
  • Utilizes planning processes and tools to develop client recommendations
  • Can effectively use and guide team on use of agency planning tools
  • Oversee plan negotiations and media team activities
  • Ensure plans are executed flawlessly
  • Maintain client contact/Manage client requests i.e. plan changes, budget changes, provide marketplace information
  • Managing status reporting process to ensure efficient workflow to meet deadlines
  • Staff supervision, training and development as well as serving as a positive role model with a strong work ethic and vigorously reviewing all work to ensure high quality standard
  • Act as key liaison with internal implementation teams (Print, Broadcast, Digital Trading) to ensure seamless integration of ideas into media plans ensuring deliverables align with overall plan strategies
  • Lead and manage the budget and client billing process

ill need:


  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years in media planning and direct client service
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and a clear ability to articulate complex concepts both orally and in written format
  • Demonstrated supervisory, delegation and strong mentorship skills
  • Working knowledge of Syndicated tools (DDS, Prisma, DCM, Sizmek, MOAT, DBM & Vividata etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
