The A&A group at SB Partners LLP is expanding. We are seeking a dynamic, smart, and service-oriented Intermediate Accounting Associate to join our team.


Purpose of the position:


As an Intermediate Accounting Associate, you will focus on leveraging your knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping concepts while being exposed to different client engagements.

The role will involve developing and maintaining outstanding client relationships, ensuring the "Ultimate Client Experience" is provided. You will work in a team and be mentored by a Manager or Senior Manager.


Key responsibilities and duties:


  • Independently complete Notice to Reader engagements, which includes preparing working paper files and corporate income tax returns in adherence with the firm's formal policies and procedures
  • Complete review engagements of financial statements for ownermanaged businesses including preparation of corporate income tax returns
  • Prepare and review T4s and T5s
  • Prepare personal tax returns and trust returns
  • Prepare and file HST returns
  • Correspond with the Canada Revenue Agency relating to personal tax and corporate tax inquiries
  • Communicate with clients and build professional work relationships
  • Manage competing deadlines for multiple partners and managers while providing quality service to clients
  • Regularly communicate with managers on status of files
  • Proactively use resources to problem solve prior to escalating questions to manager
  • Assess file workload and communicate budget updates to manager
  • Ensure time worked on each file is accurately recorded
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and coop team members
  • Show ongoing progress to the achievement of the competencies for your level

  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping concepts

  • Experience using CaseWare and TaxPrep software
  • Experience using QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online and Simply Accounting

  • Is able to deal with working in a highstress environment with competing priorities, demanding deadlines, and interruptions.
