Edmonton Integrated Services Ltd, or better known as
EIS, is seeking to hire an extraordinary person with about
6 to 18 months experience providing care and resident support to adults with developmental disabilities in the role of
Disability Support Worker (CDSW) in our Agency's
Residential Support Program.

There are several shifts available currently:


  • Saturday & Sunday: 9am9pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 9am5pm
  • Saturday 12pm8pm & Sunday 12pm7pm
  • Monday-Friday: 7am
  • 3pm
  • Monday-Friday: 3pm10pm

Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with other caregiver professional within the Individuals support network to assist in treatment and support plans.
  • Foster trusting, positive relationships to ensure Individuals feel secure and respected
  • Help individuals with meal preparation and medication management
  • Support individuals in participating in activities
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in a residential setting
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and independence
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and resident progress
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including nurses and social workers, to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Uphold resident rights and promote a personcentered approach to care.

Qualifications:

-
6 to 18 months experience working with and providing residential care to adult individuals with disabilities. Experience with mental health concerns a major asset

  • Ability to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sectors Search.
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
  • Ability to deescalate and/or respond proactively and appropriately to behaviours of concern.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and the ability communicate clearly with various clients, colleagues, and Agency Leadership is vital for performing successfully in the role.
  • Intermediate computer skills
