Job Summary


The Manager, Data Science & AI team will play a pivotal role in driving CN Data Services data-driven strategy, leading a team of talented data scientists, and collaborating cross-functionally to develop innovative solutions.

He will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of data analysis, modeling, and interpretation, while providing strategic direction, mentorship, and guidance to team members.


Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of data scientists, setting clear objectives, providing mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
  • Drive the development and implementation of cuttingedge machine learning models, algorithms, and statistical techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex data sets.
  • Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams, including Finance, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and various I&T departments, to identify opportunities and deliver datadriven solutions that address business challenges.
  • Develop and implement best practices for data collection, processing, cleansing, and validation to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Present findings, insights, and recommendations to key stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner to drive informed decisionmaking.

Requirements:


Experience

  • Minimum 7 years overall work experience
  • Proven experience (3 years) in a managerial or leadership role within a data science team or related field.
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and data visualization techniques.
  • Experience working in railroad industry is preferred.

Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor's/Masters degree or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Methods or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of data science life cycle (CRISP-DM, Microsoft TDSP)
  • Knowledge of DevOps/MLOps (Databricks, Azure ML, MLflow)
  • Knowledge of programming languages (SQL, Python, R, Scala)
  • Knowledge of frameworks and libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Pandas, PySpark).
