Job Description:


WHAT'S THE JOB?

Join our NRB Modular Solutions team, where our people are driven by a desire to innovate, do social good, and move construction forward.


As an
Estimator, reporting to the Manager, Estimating & Procurement, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of quantity take-offs, cost estimates, subcontractor quotes, risk and cost analysis.


Your work will include:


  • Review Requests for Qualification (RFQ), Requests for Proposal (RFP), addenda, and all other contractual documents.
  • Assist as required with statement of qualification packages, proposals & request for clarifications / addenda.
  • Prepare and participate in meetings with clients, joint venture partners and consultants and pretender meetings as required.
  • Prepare work breakdown structures, quantity takeoffs, and requests for quotes.
  • Lead and participate in the preliminary and final cost estimates.
  • Analyze, identify and evaluate project opportunities and risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in proposal clarifications and contract negotiations
  • Participate in the coordination of design development with design team members on Design-Build projects.
  • In preparation of final costs estimates, the Senior Estimator will interpret documentation, specification and design drawings to define scope/contents of the estimates.
  • Responsible for maintaining large working files as supporting documentation for estimating figures including current, accurate information on process for vendors, marketing material, preexisting price list, cost databases etc.

Qualifications:


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other equivalent training and/or experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience estimating within the industry.
  • Ability to work within deadlines on multiple tenders either Hard Bid, Design Build or P3 and in a fast paced team environment.
  • A trade certification such as CCEA, PCEA, GSC, P.GSC is considered an asset.
  • Eligibility as an EIT and/or registration as a P. Eng. is an asset.
  • Previous experience with quantity takeoff and estimating experience using Procore or equivalent software
  • Good knowledge base of labor & equipment productivities and costs required.
  • Excellent MS Excel and MS Word skills.
  • Good knowledge of contracts, codes, industry practices, and key trade contractors.
