Job Summary


The Field HSE Representative is responsible for administration of project safety, Accountability Programs, Accident and Fire Protection Programs, Risk Management issues, and maintaining full compliance with Company, Client and Provincial/Federal safety regulations, and drug and alcohol policies.

This will be used to fill 1 position in Edmonton. Shift schedule is 10 days on, 4 days off. The job has started and will be going until July 2024.


Essential Functions

  • Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."
  • Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."
  • Maintains full compliance with all Company, Provincial/Federal and Client safety regulations at all times.
  • Initiates and participates (with Operations) in all Accident/Incident investigations to determine Root-Causes and development of a Corrective Action Plan, including associated reports.
  • Assists in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interface and teamwork with Project / Operations management/supervisory personnel.
  • Conduct field audits to ensure compliance with all company, client and OH&S regulations
  • Conducts or schedules training (as required) for supervision and field employees for new hire/rehire orientations, Client orientations etc. Other training as may be required to maintain compliance with Corporate Safety Manual Procedures or Provincial/Federal safety regulations.
  • Performs additional related duties, as required.

Qualifications

  • 3+ year's safety experience in an industrial environment, to include aboveground storage tank construction/maintenance.
  • NCSO designation at a minimum is required.
  • OH&S diploma is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of OH&S regulations, as well as applicable provincial regulations.
  • Strong understanding of project safety planning/management.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others as part of a team.
  • Overtime is required in this position.
