Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you'll work in our IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world.

These centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.


Responsibilities:


  • Developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies.
  • Overseeing and reviewing internal and external communications for quality and consistency prior to distribution.
  • Writing and developing presentations, newsletter content, and templates for distribution to IBM employees and client stakeholders.
  • Delivering presentations across all levels of the organization.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with senior leaders across the business line to ensure open communication and flow of information to support strategic communications.
  • Ensuring that communication channels, both upward and downward, are open by proactively soliciting feedback from staff regarding communication methods.
  • Executing and implementing innovative employee engagement strategies to drive employee and client satisfaction.
  • Organizing and facilitating networking and community building events/initiatives to foster a strong community and strengthen employee engagement.
  • Playing an active role in the account's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Committee.
  • Collaborating with the Learning & Development Leader to implement a learning and development framework that addresses and builds DE&I awareness, knowledge, understanding, skills, and competencies amongst our organization.
  • Collaborating with senior leaders to develop and implement a client engagement strategy.
  • Managing and maintaining distribution lists.
  • Responding to communicationrelated issues in a timely manner.
  • Designing surveys to support the evaluation of strategies and objectives.
  • Adhoc requests to support the Project Management Office (e.g., process improvement, data analysis, etc.)
  • Must be located onsite at our IBM office in Bedford, Nova Scotia

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Required Experience/Skills:


  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional writing experience, with a proven ability to distill complex data into a clear narrative for stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in equity, diversity, inclusion, and antiracism and demonstrated experience in leading transformational change.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail and proven ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to navigate different perspectives and arrive at a decision.
  • Ability to multitask, work well under pressure, and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Eligible to obtain Government of Canada Enhanced Reliability clearance.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Preferred Experience/Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a Public Sector environment.
