POSITION TYPE:
Full-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated to May 30, 2025)


SALARY:
$62,129 - $92,271 per annum*
POSITION LOCATION: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB)


DUTIES
Instruct a variety of courses within the Health Information Management Program/Life Sciences Department.


Duties related to instructing include:

curriculum development, preparing course outlines, maintaining student records, student evaluation, assist in college activities including student orientation, graduation, and relevant committees.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current certification with Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) certificate level
  • Significant current work experience within one of the four domains
  • Data Quality, Privacy, Standards or Electronic Health Information Management Systems
  • Experience working with Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI)'s classification systems and grouping methodologies
  • Experience working with MED2020, WinRecs, MADE, and various CIHI Databases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and Access
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment with a collaborative approach
  • Diploma in Health Information Management program
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in health, business, science or education
  • Experience in developing curriculum and instructing at the postsecondary level
  • Supervisory or management experience in a Health Information department
  • Knowledge of the structure of the Canadian legal system in relation to health care organizations and to health information
  • Experience with Data Analysis including CIHI Data Quality Framework, Balanced Scorecards/Dashboards, and Data Analysis Lifecycle

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
  • This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
