Position Description:


This At-The-Elbow Support Student will be under the direction of the Change Engagement and Workplace Experience Director and receive guidance and day to day responsibilities from the Training and Orientation Program Manager.

The Student will play a critical role in supporting the training, orientation, and go live support in the opening of the new Patient Support Centre.

Working in collaboration with internal super users, Program Champions, Training and Orientation Program Manager, the At-the-Elbow Support Student will also be responsible for providing one-to-one support to end-users in the PSC to a wide variety of roles including by combining their knowledge and expertise with exceptional customer service skills to ensure end-users are comfortable during the pre-, during and post-move periods.

To prepare you for this role, you will attend a training program during onboarding to develop expertise in the new spaces, workflows and wayfinding.


Here's What You Get to do:

  • Provide one-on-one assistance to end users to support the transition from old spaces, workflows and technology to the new space, workflows and technology during and post-move
  • Provide secondary classroom or workshop support during end user training and orientation sessions by answering questions and providing oneonone assistance
  • Assist end users with wayfinding and navigation in the PSC during the move period
  • Point of contact for end users and departmental Super Users
  • Identify and resolve issues and escalate when required, aligned with standard processes
  • Attend team meeting on a regular basis and assist with creating minutes and agenda items
  • Coordinate followups with education and crossfunctional teams
  • Support documentation and administrative activities and other duties as assigned

Here's What You'll Need:


  • Current enrollment in a University or College program required, preferably in a healthsciences field (Nursing, Medicine, Lab, Pharmacy, etc.)
  • Healthcare knowledge an asset
  • Adult education experience is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships and interact with others at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, with strong initiative to achieve high standards of service and performance
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highpressure environment
  • Proven attendance record
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all
  • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others
  • Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment

Employment Type:0.50 FTE (17.5 hours) from September 2023 to May 2024
