Norstar Windows and Doors is looking to fill a role in its Receiving Department. This person shall be responsible for counting, measuring and inspecting received goods.

Job Details:

Location: 400 McNeilly Road, Stoney Creek, ON.
Schedule: 7:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. (2 paid breaks, 1/2 hour unpaid lunch).
Benefits: Companypaid group medical, dental, and insurance after probation.

PLEASE NOTE WE ARE NOT ON A BUS ROUTE.

Job Tasks:

Inspect for damages, quality compliance and quantity
Receive goods as per quality control report
Physically count materials against received packing slips
Measure materials to confirm received material was to specifications
Liaise with the Receiving Coordinator as required to update receipt of materials in the ERP system
Report all damaged and/or short shipments to Receiving Manager
Rebundle/repack packaging opened for quality condition, measurement and count
Reattach packing slip to product
Ability to move inventory with walkie forklift as required
Overall responsibility for the cleanliness of the Receiving area
Work in a safe manner, consistent with our policies and procedures by identifying, reporting, and/or correcting unsafe conditions
Participate in actively improving inventory accuracy
Provide additional backup support for Receiving department and assist with other administrative functions as required
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Must be very organized and be able to work under pressure as this is a very fast paced environment
Able to speak, read and write English
Able to count freight
Accurate measurement, solid experience in reading a tape measure
Must be able to accurately measure in feet, inches, linear feet, metric to 1/8" accuracy
Able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Extreme attention to detail
Previous shipping/receiving experience would be an asset
Able to use a motorized walkie forklift (pallet jack)
Computer experience would be an asset.

Working Conditions:

This position may be exposed to elements such as intermittent noise, dust, heat, and cold
Use of Personal Protection Equipment (e.g. seatbelt, safety glasses, gloves, steeltoed safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, etc.)
Ability to stand for extended periods and complete repetitive tasks
Regularly works near moving mechanical equipment.
