_This position is a part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA)._


In accordance with the Trust/Research Academic Staff Agreement, this position offers a comprehensive benefits package found on our Benefits Overview page and annual salary range of $76,135 - $85,660.

This position has an end date of July 31, 2025.


Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.

Position

Duties

The Research Associate will be responsible for:

  • Validate the existing indicator algorithm using multiple years of retrospective RAI-MDS 2.0 data
  • Adjust the algorithm if necessary
  • Develop a model a model for working with senior policy and system managers
  • Lead a series of meetings with senior policy and system managers over a two year period to assess whether the indicator has strong usability with end users.
  • All project functions:
  • Development and maintenance of detailed project timelines, milestones and deliverables.
  • All budget activities including regular reports
  • Maintenance of detailed micro data documentation and detailed meta data for the project
  • Develop tailored dissemination strategies and packaging of the indicator system for users
  • Chairing regular team meetings
  • Preparation of webinars and reports for stakeholders and funders
  • Scientific outputs: conference and other presentations, scientific publications
  • Supporting 12 trainees to work on the project
  • Perform other research and administrative duties as required

Qualifications

  • PhD in Nursing
  • Completion of at least 1 year of a post doc
  • Experience working in LTC homes
  • Experience with large data bases, specifically, RAI-MDS 2.0
  • Must be an experienced SAS user
  • Strong data visualization skills
  • Experience working with policy makers
  • Superior project management skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence and initiative
  • Ability to make and adhere to selfimposed timelines
  • Must be able to work with a high degree of independence and experience must reflect that
