Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director, Pharmacy Programs, the Pharmacy Programs Optimization Lead analyzes and measures the effectiveness of Pharmacy Programs and develops sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable improvements.

The incumbent develops methodology and leads cross-functional team initiatives, such as the onboarding of new business partners and business transitions.

The Pharmacy Programs Optimization Lead research best practices and standards within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data, collects and analyzes data to initiate, develop, and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced independent pharmacy performance while identifying opportunities for business growth.

The incumbent liaises with cross-functional business leads with a collaboration & continuous improvement mindset.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Identifying business growth opportunities across all categories, impacting our independent pharmacy network
  • Leading projects in conjunction with business teams to identify opportunities for improvement, gather and analyze information and data, develop and recommend improvements and innovation through datadriven insights
  • Conducting and/or support training of team members on Reporting and Continuous Improvement tools and techniques in both formal and informal (justintime) settings
  • Working closely with business leaders throughout the project life cycle
  • Developing and managing business leader relationships at Director/MD levels
  • Leading and organizing crossdepartmental groups through complex and strategic workshops
  • Tracking projects from ideation to completion
  • Helping to create project plans and documentation considering resources, task priority, risks, and dependencies.
  • Developing and delivering story and presentations for report outs independently
  • Builds, implements, and facilitates business performance and processes using a proven methodology to maximize value to the organization.
  • Leads and executes business project implementations, ensuring all key critical success factors are met or exceeded; develops mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Is responsible for aggregating insights, analytics, and retail business performance information, building and delivering presentations to senior management, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with peers within the Sales Department, and the larger McKesson organization to exchange on leading practices and stay abreast of market, industry trends and conditions, as well as technological advances.
  • Identifies and addresses operational performance matters that impact business results or expose the organization to business or regulatory risks.
  • Maintains relevant business knowledge of products and manufacturers.
  • Fosters a culture of performance, continuous improvement and collaboration with Management and peers and acts as a McKesson ambassador of corporate values.

Position Requirements

Working Experience

  • 710 years' experience in pharmaceutical environment.
  • Retail/Wholesale/Manufacturing/Specialty Programs/Pharmacy experience an asset.

Education

  • University degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • PMP, SCMP, CSCP or Six Sigma/Lean designations are compelling assets.
