The Role


The Senior Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting and auditing process and products to ensure they conform to customer quality requirements and ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

Monday - Thursday: 7:00AM - 4:30PM

Friday: 7:00AM - 3:00PM


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Carry out and coordinate all inspection and test requirements of the project as outlined in the Control Plan and customer quality requirements including compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 system
  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Perform First Article Inspection, Inspection Quality Audits, equipment product inspection and Dock Audits
  • Approve First Off, Inprocess and Final Inspection by conforming to specifications
  • Prepare PPAP documentation including Process Flow Charts, PFMA, Control Plans, Capability Studies, Gauge R &R
  • Manage nonconformance records (NCR) by issuing NCR's and Corrective Actions
  • Troubleshoot product issues
  • Ensure Tensile Tests are performed for raw material in accordance to ASTM-E8 or ASM-A370 standard as required
  • Ensure parts that have been inspected and "quality approved" meet customer specifications
  • Continuous review of manufacturing processes and provide process improvements suggestions
  • Provide input for addressing internal and external CARs
  • Provide input for drawings reviews regarding dimensions and tolerances
  • Provide training for operators regarding applicable Inspection methods

Requirements:


  • Over 10 years of experience in Quality Control in Manufacturing
  • Postsecondary diploma/degree
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decisionmaking skills
  • Detail and results oriented
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience in CMM programming
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook Advanced
  • Interpersonal skills to work in a team environment to achieve goals and results
  • Good written, oral and listening skills to clearly convey and receive technical information
  • Must be able to read and operate various quality measuring instruments: micrometer, scale, Vernier calipers, height gauges and all other basic inspection tools
  • Manually able to lift objects up to 30 lbs
