The Mikisew Cree First Nation (Mikisew) has lived on the ancestral lands of the Athabasca Delta and Wood Buffalo National Park in northeastern Alberta since time immemorial.

Many of our members live in the hamlet of Fort Chipewyan, and our traditional lands range over a large portion of Athabasca oil sands deposits.

Position Overview
As a Plumber at Mikisew Cree First Nation, you will play a vital role in maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing systems across our community.
You will work closely with a team of skilled professionals who are committed to providing top-notch services to our community members.
This position is 21 days on 7 days off with accommodation included in Fort Chipewyan.Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in accordance with local codes and regulations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute plumbing projects.
- Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential problems and areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
- Provide exceptional customer service while addressing the plumbing needs of community members.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Plumber certification or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Plumber.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing plumbing issues.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Other Requirements
- Possess a valid Class 5 AB driver's license and own or access to a vehicle.
- Willingness and ability to travel to Fort Chipewyan as required.
- Willingness and ability to work after hours and/or weekends when required.
- Willingness to submit to an oath of confidentiality.
- Willing to work flexible schedule.
- Ability to speak and/or understand the Cree language (or another applicable First Nation language) would be beneficial.
