Role Overview


Reporting to the EVP, Wealth, as CEO and President, iA Clarington you will act as a core member of the Wealth Leadership team, foster a strong and inclusive work environment where diversity flourishes, be able to articulate and drive the strategic vision, build upon and scale the business' roadmap, and drive a strong brand recognition.


Role Accountabilities

  • Foster a culture of portfolio management excellence with internal and subadvisory asset management teams.
  • Drive the strategy of the organization ensuring all our employees are aligned to, and supportive of, our vision and company values.
  • Embrace a philosophy focused on integrating enhanced technology into the business and service model
  • Contribute to the recruitment and retention of portfolio management talent at our internal asset management division.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with sales, marketing, product, operations, finance, legal and compliance leaders.
  • Develop, recommend and execute a business model for iA Clarington that responds to a changing industry, leverages the indepth knowledge and expertise of inhouse teams, and respects the highly independent nature of iA's advisory partners.
  • Instill a governance mindset and ensure the appropriate controls and security safeguards are in place
  • Champion sustainability initiatives that reflect iA Wealth's commitment to ESG goals
  • Actively contribute to the identification and negotiations with potential M&A opportunities.
  • Advocate for the value of investment advice and active portfolio management
  • Represent iA Clarington at external and internal market industry events including media relations.

Gross and Net Sales targets and AUM growth:

Job Knowledge/ Work Experience

  • Substantial experience as a Leader or secondincommand of a national retail fund asset management firm;
  • Strong understanding of financial services industry and regulatory environment
  • Established wellrespected relationships within the industry
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated proficiency in general business disciplines
  • Demonstrated capacity to successfully grow profitable AUM, manage the full P&L of a business with at least $10M of revenue; responsibilities should have included business development, sales management, finance, compliance and /or operations.
  • In depth investment management and advisory distribution experience
  • Strong adherence to both the spirit and rules of industry regulatory framework
  • Ability to build internal partnerships and relationships in a team environment
  • Experience building strategic alliances within a large and complex organization and with external partners.

Education, Certification, or Licences:


  • University degree, or equivalent experience
  • Securities Course (CSC)
  • CFP, CIM, CAIA, MBA and / or CFA preferred
