Position Description:
***: Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic is a service that provides addiction medicine consults. This position will provide administrative support for the clinic. The incumbent ensures that all operational functions of the program; clinical, academic and research administration of the Clinic and its team members are coordinated with efficiency, professionalism and confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of a postsecondary diploma in medical office administration required.
- Two years related experience working within a busy office environment, with at least two years in a mental health setting required.
- Completion of Medical Terminology Level 1 and 2 required
- Intermediate skill level in medical terminology, medical spelling, and spelling is required
- Intermediate skill level typing speed and accuracy required
- Intermediate skill in MS Word and Excel is required
- Demonstrated ability to maintain excellent interpersonal relationships while handling multiple tasks, conflicting priorities and frequent interruptions in a fastpaced environment required.
- Assists with standard patient observation procedures specific to the RAAM clinic with regards to patient screening such as urine screens
- Demonstrated excellent customer service and ability to effectively communicate in a sensitive and nonjudgmental manner with patients, family members, other departments/hospitals, staff and outside agencies, the incumbent ensures that all operational functions of the program are handled with efficiency, professionalism and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational and problemsolving skills, with demonstrated flexibility and ability to set own priorities and work with mínimal supervision required.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality required.
- Current First Aid & CPR preferred
- Good work performance and attendance record is essential.
- Clerical testing may be required as part of the selection process
WAGE RATE:
