Responsibilities:


Position Summary:


The National Manager, Finance, is responsible for leading the Financial Services, Pricing and Promotions, and Capital Asset Teams in the Corporate Office.

This role is critical in driving the business forward through the development of key business relationships with a focus on process improvements.

The role will have a full scope of accountability over the direct reporting teams and functional areas.


Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:


People and team development:


  • Lead and coach team members to ensure everyone has a role in the success of the business
  • Assess talent on an ongoing basis, providing opportunities to continue development and growth
  • Build a culture that values relationships with internal and external customers
  • Create a culture of inclusion and encourage new ideas from team members
  • Lead by example by proactively leveraging best practices and sharing continuous improvement ideas
  • Achieve team results while upholding ethics, integrity, compliance, and company values

Financial Services and Analysis:


  • Manage operating budget and forecast process for functional areas including reporting on consolidated results and detailed analysis
  • Continuous improvement to current reporting and communication process
  • Communicate, influence, and drive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results with internal and external customers
  • Ensure sales pricing accuracy and analytics, as well as inbound freight processing and analytics through effective management and support of team
  • Focus on cash management and trade working capital to ensure objectives are achieved
  • Work closely with both our lessors and suppliers to manage and execute a compliant RFQ process for operating leases of fleet and material handling equipment
  • Supports capital team to:
  • Comply with accounting standard ASC 842 requirements
  • Ensures capital project submissions and approvals are accurate and remain on budget
  • Works with teams throughout our business to review, assess and report on cost savings initiatives with the customer
  • Involved in annual risk management policy renewals and review, and support of ongoing risk management
  • Support various internal and external audits
  • Ensure the operations follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP)/Good Drivers Practices (GDP) for transport rules and regulations
  • Other projects or duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in business/accounting, CPA designation
  • 7+ years of relevant experience and 4+ years of people management responsibility
  • Proven leadership and finance skills
  • Strong communication skills to effectively work with senior management in various departments and locations
  • Detailoriented and possesses sharp business acumen
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the business
  • Critical thinker with an eye for identifying irregularities and exceptions
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strategic thinker and change agent
  • Problem solver and analytical expert
  • Able to thrive in a fastpaced setting
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% for periods of time
  • Primarily Canada
  • This position must pass a postoffer background check
