What can I expect to do in this role?: As a Data Engineer, you will work with a large team of data analysts, data scientists and data stewards to deliver solutions to tangible, real-world problems.

Things to expect in this role:

Retrieving, cleaning, assessing, and preparing data assets for use in enterprise data projects.
Creating compelling data products and services by means of visualization, prescriptive and predictive analytics, and data stories.
Designing data flow and data models, reviewing code, and getting involved in data design discussions.
Connecting and working with your colleagues beyond ministry lines to deliver integrated data, analytics, and data science services.

How do I qualify?:

Technical Knowledge and Expertise:

You are highly skilled and experienced in building enterprise grade data analytics platforms, services and products using best practices for highvolume structured and unstructured data assets.
You have deep knowledge and understanding working with data querying languages (e.g. SQL, Hive, Cypher) and/or data science programming languages (e.g. Python, R, Scala, Java,.NET) and platforms like Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Power BI, Data Lake, Synapse, Microsoft SharePoint, WebSphere, Dynamics CRM, Tableau, Azure Storage, ADF, and Azure Analysis Service.
You can design, implement, and maintain data pipelines to ingest/extract, load, clean, aggregate, transform, integrate, and otherwise prepare data for analytics/data science.
You can lead design review activities to bring standardization and consistency amongst data engineering team, build and implement standards and contribute expertise to other data expert teams.
You can educate, coach and develop junior data engineers on the team and build their knowledge in specialized Data Engineering techniques and processes.
You have demonstrated knowledge of Power BI functions such as analytics, data modeling and mining, reporting, data cleansing, DAX, and Power Query.
You can recommend improvements to streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, usability, and value.
You can work with analysts and clients to implement and improve data models, processes, and curate data from multiple sources for integrated reporting in an enterprise environment.

You have experience working on projects with multiple team members and competing priorities.
You have effective teamwork skills to collaborate and build strong relationships with team members and internal ministry users to support development and implementation of client solutions.
You have proven decisionmaking skills by seeking information, understanding context, and considering inputs from relevant sources.
You have experience working on data projects and delivering them in an agile, iterative, and lean manner.
You can identify and articulate the work packages required to complete a task.
You can partner with internal stakeholders and executives to gain an expert understanding of highly strategic, high

- risk business functions and informational needs.

You can contribute to strategic planning for Data Engineering and work closely with other technical and data analytics experts across the business to implement data solutions.
